Silver Lure isn't about Matches, Competition or Results - it's about having fun and enjoying your fishing! But for those that wish, the friendly club competitions offer a fantastic opportunty for focusing on learning new skills, brushing up on old ones, and are measurable way to track progress with the other anglers in the club. We have a wide variety of trophies, that have been designed to challenge the ability of any angler:
Shore Competitions
Annual Shore Championship
Comprising of a points based system based, where anglers are awarded percentage of the winning bag (by weight) from each outing. The best 10 scores out of 12 trips count.
Nominated Species Shore Chapionship
This competition runs outside club trips as well as during them, points are awarded for fish caught, based on a percentage of the club record weight.
Heaviest Bag (Shore)
Awarded to the angler who has caught the heaviest bag weight from the shore outings during the year.
Heaviest Fish (Shore)
Awarded to the angler that has landed the heaviest fish during any club shore outing in the year.
Greatest Number of Species (Shore)
Awarded to the angler that has landed the greatest number of different species of fish on the club shore trips, throughout the year.
Heaviest Winter Cod
Operating only in the winter season (October-March), this trophy is awarded to the angler that has recorded landing the heaviest cod on a club shore trip.
Most Improved Angler (Shore)
Recognising the hard work our anglers put in through the year, this trophy is awarded to the angler that's most improved their skill set.
Boat Competitions
Annual Boat Championship
Comprising of a points based system, where anglers are awarded percentage of the winning bag (measure and release) from each outing. The best 10 scores out of 12 trips count.
Winter Boat Championship
For the winter season (October-March), the winning angler is the one who scores the most points from their best 5 out of 6 trips in the season.
Summer Boat Championship
For the summer season (April-September), the winning angler is the one who scores the most points from their best 5 out of 6 trips in the season.

Club membership offers the opportunity to take part in our monthly boat, and shore outings. The outings are selected to give a variety of seasonal fishing, and offer a wide range of challenges to suit all skill levels, from the novice, to the most experienced anglers.
Most Improved Angler (Boat)
Awarded to the angler that has landed the greatest number of different species of fish on the club boat trips, throughout the year.
Overall Competition
Best Annual Specimen
The best annual specimen is a trophy that is awarded to the angler who has caught the heaviest fish as a percentage of the club record, from either boat or shore during the year.
